Michigan’s Sentinel Apiary Project

Michigan State University’s Sentinel Apiary Project monitors honey bee colony health and nectar flow across the state. This project aims to provide information about bloom times, diseases, and other potential issues that beekeepers in different locations might experience.

Where are the Sentinel hives in Michigan?

Michigan State University will be monitoring six Sentinel apiary locations:MISentinelMap

  • Central Michigan- Lansing and Battle Creek
  • Southeast Michigan- Novi
  • Southwest Michigan- Benton Harbor
  • Northwest Michigan- Traverse City
  • The Upper Peninsula- Chatham
